The Saginaw News: Gratiot judge to
retire

ITHACA -- After more than two decades
on the bench, Gratiot County District Court Judge James Mackie is
retiring when his term expires Dec. 31.
Then-Gov. James Blanchard appointed
Mackie to the bench in 1986. Voters subsequently elected him to three
six-year terms.
Mackie earned his law degree from the
Detroit College of Law in 1970. He worked in private practice in Alma
for 16 years.
To date, three attorneys -- Nancy
Gallagher, 49, of Alma, Stewart McDonald, 53, of Alma and Eric St. Onge,
35, of St. Louis -- have announced they will seek the post. |
